Brampton Outstanding Business Achievement
Awards - Year 2001
Medical Waste Management Inc., with its Sharpsmart
Canada Ltd. division, was selected for the 2001
Brampton Outstanding Business Achievement Award,
in the category of 'High Technology' as recognized
by the City of Brampton's Economic Development
Office & The Brampton Board of Trade.
December, 2001:
Introduction of Sharpsmart Canada Limited
Medical Waste Management Inc., along with it's
joint venture partner, The Daniels Corporation
of Australia, are pleased to announce the introduction
of Sharpsmart Canada Limited. In mid-1999 Medical
Waste Management conducted a comprehensive global
search of the safest and most environmentally
responsible sharps (needles, blades, broken glass,
etc.) containment systems possible, that it could
develop and introduce to Ontario healthcare facilities,
as an alternative to the hap-hazard containers
and programs currently available.
After investigating dozens of companies, systems
and containers, MWM made contact with the Daniels
Corporation of Australia, a truly visionary company
that has spent several years and several million
dollars designing and developing the best sharps
containment system available - anywhere. In addition
to being the safest sharps disposable container
ever designed - it is 100% REUSABLE!
March 5, 2001:
Certificate of Approval to Operate Incineration
System
Medical Waste Management Inc., is pleased to announce
the introduction of a new incineration technology.
Medical Waste Management has always intended to
be THE Ontario solution to the Ontario medical
waste challenge and the only way for MWM to accomplish
this heightened objective, was to become a 'full-service'
healthcare waste service company.
After establishing both industry and regulatory
authority credibility, Medical Waste Management
commenced high level consultations with the Ontario
Ministry of Environment in early 2000, to commission
Ontario's first state-of-the-art commercial medical
waste incinerator and emission control system.
After locating the best available technologies,
holding several public information sessions and
open houses and completing an arduous environmental
Public Hearing process, Medical Waste Management
was granted full approval to operate this exceptional
waste incineration system.
January 25, 1999:
Certificate of Approval to Operate Incineration
System
Medical Waste Management Inc., is pleased to announce
that it has been approved for commercial operations.
After developing the required specifications and
identifying the best available medical waste processing
technologies available, an ideal site was selected
in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and the required
Ontario Ministry of Environment (MOE) approval
applications were submitted. The original MWM
management team moved into our new home in November
1998, just in time to take delivery of our new
equipment, for installation and commissioning.
After more than six weeks of MOE witnessed commissioning
testing, MWM was formally approved for commercial
operations by the MOE.
